Lymphoedema

Lymphoedema is a collection of lymph fluid in the body tissues. Lymphoedema only affects the skin and fatty tissues and not the muscle compartments beneath. Lymphoedema may be primary or it can be secondary lymphoedema. Primary lymphoedema is rare with the incidence of 1: 10,000. There is no cure for lymphoedema, but it is possible to control the symptoms using a combination of different techniques, such as massage and compression clothing.
